Camino of Maryland Weekend 2
2 days - 27.3 Miles
Saturday, June 22-Sunday, June 23. Walk the Weekend Camino 2 (2 days-27.3 mi.). Start at St. John the Evangelist in Frederick, Maryland, and end at Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
St. John is the oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Baltimore founded in 1763. The present church is the oldest consecrated Catholic Church in the area, and we are the mother church of the other Catholic parishes of Frederick County.
But St. John is so much more than just a museum of the past but a vibrant beacon of faith right now. Our bell tower is the highest spire in Frederick and can be seen from Rt 70. It symbolizes what we have been and continue to be a beacon of faith and God’s Love to all.

The National Shrine of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton:
“Elizabeth Ann Seton is a saint. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is an American. All of us say this with special joy, and with the intention of honoring the land and the nation from which she sprang forth as the first flower in the calendar of the saints. Elizabeth Ann Seton was wholly American! Rejoice for your glorious daughter. Be proud of her. And know how to preserve her fruitful heritage.” –Pope Paul VI
